On 23 October 2022, team India began their World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in Melbourne. The Men in Blue managed to win the first game by four wickets. Then, they took on the Netherlands on 27 October in Sydney. Fans were waiting for another good performance from them in the ongoing World Cup.
Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and choose to bat first. KL Rahul along with the Indian skipper came out to open the innings. But, Rahul failed once again as he scored nine runs off 12 balls. Then, in-form Virat Kohli came out to bat at the number three position.

Rohit Sharma scored 53 runs off 39 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes. Virat and Suryakumar Yadav stitched a solid partnership of 95* runs. Virat Kohli scored another fifty in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. He scored 62* runs off 44 balls, including three fours and two sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 140.90. But, Suryakumar Yadav was in a different zone. He came up with some outrageous shots during the match.
Yadav scored 51* runs off 25 balls, at a strike rate of 204. He hit seven fours and one six in his innings. Both these innings helped India to score 179 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Netherlands only managed to score 123 runs in 20 overs by losing nine wickets. Thus, India managed to win the game by 56 runs. But, after the completion of India’s innings, Gautam Gambhir made a big comment about Virat Kohli. He said that the real hero is Suryakumar Yadav, not Virat Kohli. Yadav took the pressure off Kohli since he went to bat out in the middle. He said: “Real hero is Suryakumar Yadav and not Virat Kohli as he took the pressure off him.” Fans did not like it at all as they slammed the former batter on social media platforms.
