Jimmy Neesham, no matter wherever he goes, super overs just keep following him. Since the World Cup final match in July 2019, a year ago, he has been continuously engaging in a few encounters where the games had to be decided by the super over. Furthermore, he was associated with another super over on Sunday when Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians in the second super over.
For Kings XI Punjab, this was the second game in the ongoing season of IPL in which super over was used to decide the match result. Earlier in the IPL 2020, they had ended up losing against Delhi Capitals. However, on Sunday, the team of KL Rahul held its nerves to defeat the defending champions. With this win, the Punjab-based team is keeping their slim hope of playoff alive.
KXIP delighted with the win against the defending champions
Cricket fans witnessed a crazy game of cricket in IPL history on Sunday, where two super overs were needed to choose the winner of the game. Both the teams ended scoring 176 runs during respective allotted 20 overs. In the first super over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled splendidly to limit KXIP to 5 runs. Mohammed Shami did the same and confined Mumbai Indians to 5 runs before both the teams had to move to the second super over.
Mumbai Indians scored 11 runs, batting first in the second super over, against Chris Jordan. KXIP, in their response, chased down the score in four deliveries. Chris Gayle hit the first ball of the second super over bowled by Trent Boult for a six. Then Mayank Agarwal hit the third and fourth ball for fours and guides KXIP to win the game.
Jimmy Neesham’s response to another super over
As soon as the game was over, Jimmy Neesham tweeted and reacted about the exciting game; and is the part of another cricket match which had to be decided by the super over. The chitchat started when a user approached him for tips to resist the urge to panic in such pressure circumstances.
“I wonder how @JimmyNeesh keeps his nerves calm during such games. Please help us with some tips Neesham,” wrote the user.
Jimmy Neesham noticed the tweet and decided to react to it. In his trademark manner, the New Zealand allrounder revealed the reason behind holding his nerve during such games, writing: “I am dead inside”
