India's star bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 owing to an injury. He was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 earlier this month due to a back injury. The Men in Blue, who were defending their title, missed Bumrah. The team was eliminated from the tournament following the Super Four round.

The team's biggest concern during the tournament was their death bowling. This problem will continue for the men in blue during the 28-year-old's absence from the tournament. Star Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood also is of the same opinion.

Hazlewood lauded Bumrah as the best bowler in the T20s and also added that India will miss his services in the T20 World Cup. "He (Jasprit Bumrah) is probably the best bowler in T20s, as far as I'm concerned. So, yeah, they're really going to miss him," he said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.

Bumrah's injury is a major setback for Rohit Sharma and his team, who relied on him for success. Now, the situation appears to be completely different, and fans are wondering who the best possible replacement for the injured Bumrah could be.

It has been understood that the 28-year-old's stress fracture in the back could take up to six months to heal. "Bumrah is not going to play the T20 World Cup for sure. He has a serious back condition. It’s a stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months," a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by News 18.

Mohammed Siraj named to the T20 squad for South Africa series

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj has been named to the Indian squad for the final two Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa, replacing Jasprit Bumrah. "The All-India Senior Selection Committee named Mohd. Siraj as replacement for injured Jasprit Bumrah for the remainder of the T20I series against South Africa. Bumrah has sustained a back injury and is currently under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team," read a statement from BCCI.
