So far, the Delhi team has struggled to give good performances in the Indian T20 League 2022, and so has Rishabh Pant. The Delhi-based franchise have played five games in the tournament and have won only two of them. They currently stand eighth in the league standings. Their skipper Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, has been struggling to get into his rhythm. The left-hander has only scored 144 runs in the five games.

The former Indian coach, Ravi Shastri, has a great piece of advice for the emerging captain. He said that Rishabh Pant needs to play his natural game and not worry about the captaincy pressure. He said that he should play the attacking game and let the other batters take on the responsibility.

"What I would like to see with Delhi is Rishabh Pant coming and playing his natural game. Forgetting that he is the captain of the side, just let him go out and play his natural game. Let the others around him take the responsibility, because if he fires it will do his captaincy a world of good and at the same time you will see the results changing for Delhi pretty quickly," he told Star Sports.

The 59-year old pointed out that there is nothing wrong with Pant's batting. He said that all he needs is a change in his thinking. Shastri advised Pant to take his time at first and then go for the big runs.

"I don't think there is any problem with his batting. I think it's just the change of mindset that is needed, where he goes out and gives himself a little bit of time early on and then goes for it. There are no half-measures.

"The Rishabh Pant you know is Rishabh Pant, where there are no half measures. He plays the high-risk shots, he takes his chances and you want him to play in that fashion because that's what brings out the best in him," Shastri said.
