Puneri Paltan finally ended their wait for the PKL title as they clinched their maiden title in the history of the tournament. Paltan under the captaincy of Aslam Mustafa defeated Haryana Steelers by 28-25 in the final of the just concluded PKL 10, played at the GMC Balayogi Sports Complex, Gachibowli in Hyderabad.

The match was quite intense throughout the entire timeline as both teams gave a tough fight to each other in this summit clash.

Puneri Paltanโ€™s Pankaj Mohite ended up as the most successful raider in the match 9 touch points, in 6 successful raids, alongside 2 unsuccessful and 2 empty raids. Meanwhile, his teammate and star defender Gaurav Khatri was the most successful defender in the match with 4 tackle points, alongside 2 unsuccessful tackles.

Haryana Steelers also saw some brilliant performances from their side, having Shivam Patare as their successful raider with a total of 6 points, including 4 touchpoints and 2 bonus points in 7 successful raids, alongside 3 unsuccessful raids and 6 empty raids.

Puneri Paltan dominance continued throughout the entire season of PKL 2024

Puneri Paltan had a brilliant campaign throughout the entire season of the Pro Kabaddi League 2023-24. They registered the highest number of victories in the group stages, winning 17 matches out of 22 matches they played in the tournament with 2 defeats and 3 tied matches. They had the highest positive score difference of 253 in the group stage, with 5 successive wins in the last five league matches.

Earlier, the Paltan managed to make it to the playoff and knockout stage of the tournament in a couple of seasons but they failed to end up over the finishing line. It is their first-ever title in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League since the inception of the tournament 10 years back in the year 2014.
