In a tragic event during a Kabaddi game in Tamil Nadu, a player died moments after he was tackled by the defenders. The match was played in Panruti in the Salem district. In a video that is going viral on social media, the raider, Vimalraj, tried to jump over the defender. However, the defender got hold of his legs which is why the latter wasn't successful enough.

Another defender came in and pinned down the deceased raider using his knees on his chest. For those who don't know, this kind of tackling is allowed although is important to note that this kind of tackle can be injurious. The defender tackled the deceased the same way and the latter was given out by the umpire. After that, he was supposed to go back to his teammates in the dugout.

However, he tried to stand up but failed and eventually collapsed. The players from both teams rushed to the spot to check on him. The 22-year-old was immediately taken to the hospital.

However, the doctors declared him dead and the body was transferred to a government hospital for post mortem. The local police have registered a case to investigate and clarify the cause of death. At this point, the locals who were watching the game, believed that the boy died of a heart attack. He was in the second year of college and doing an undergraduate course in B.Sc Zoology in a private college of the Salem district.

Talking about tackling in the game, there are lot of risks involved for a raider. A lot of times it has been witnessed in the Pro Kabaddi league that a group of players try to tackle the opponent. This brings a great risk of a player getting injured.
