In a delightful piece of news for Indo-Pak cricket fans, the Pakistan cricket team landed in India on Wednesday, September 27 for the ODI World Cup 2023. The entire squad, alongside skipper Babar Azam, received a warm welcome and amazing hospitality in India. Meanwhile, the Pakistan players have also started their practice in Hyderabad.

Notably, the men in green will lock horns with New Zealand and Australia, respectively in their two warm-up matches. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host both the matches of Babar Azam and Co. Later, the 1992 World Cup champions will start their campaign in the ODI World Cup 2023 on Friday, October 6.

Pakistan will play their campaign opener against the Netherlands at the same venue in Hyderabad. Following that, they will be playing against Sri Lanka on October 10. Apart from that, they’ll also cross swords against the arch-rivals and the hosts, India in a high-octane clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.

Recently, Pakistan didn’t have an expected outing in the Asia Cup 2023, where they were knocked out of the tournament after a close defeat by 2 wickets in the last super-4 match against Sri Lanka. Pakistan were one of the few teams who announced their squads quite late around the commencement of the tournament.

Interestingly, the Pakistan cricket team have arrived in India after a long wait of 7 years since their last visit to the T20 World Cup 2016. They are also among the favourite teams who could make it to the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023.
