Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has stated that he does not doubt Virat Kohli’s credentials as a captain. He wants him to continue as the captain of the Indian team. According to Akmal, Virat Kohli is a wonderful skipper for India.

The Indian skipper recently came under fire for losing the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. There have been demands for him to step down as the captain of the Indian team. It is because under his captaincy the team has repeatedly failed to win ICC titles. But Kamran Akmal stated that he should not be solely held responsible for the Indian team's inability to win ICC titles.

In a YouTube video, Kamran Akmal shared his thoughts on why the Indian captain has failed to win ICC titles. He stated that Virat Kohli is a good player and a fantastic captain. He is aggressive and emotional on-field. But like past Indian captains like Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni he has taken the team forward. He has not been successful at winning ICC trophies but he has won other prestigious titles for the team. The Indian team has won numerous series under Virat Kohli. He has been a bit unlucky in ICC title matches but he is a good captain and match-winner.

Graeme Swann has also supported Virat Kohli to continue as the captain of Team India

Former English spinner Graeme Swann has also backed Virat Kohli to continue as the captain of the Indian team. He lauded Kohli for his effort and stated that he is an absolute champion and match-winner. Kohli is 100% committed to his job and has a passion for the game. It is visible from his expression when a wicket goes or there is a misfield. Thereby, it would be an absolute crime against cricket to get rid of Virat Kohli as the captain. The Indian team lost the World Test Championship final against New Zealand because they were under-prepared. India was not given any practice matches and the players were not adjusted to the English conditions. It affected the team performance in the title match.

Virat Kohli was dismissed for 44 and 13 runs on both innings during the final game. Both times, his RCB teammate Kyle Jamieson dismissed him.
