All Indian fans were waiting eagerly for 23 October 2022 as India took on Pakistan in the 20-20 World Cup. The match took place in Melbourne as it was the World Cup opener for both teams. Last year in the World Cup, India lost against Pakistan by 10 wickets and fans were all in shock. Therefore, they were looking forward to a better show from the team this year.

Speaking of the match, India won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. For Pakistan, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came out to open the innings. But, Indian bowlers were in great form from the first over only. Arshdeep Singh drew the first blood by taking the wicket of the Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam.

He failed to open his account as he lost his wicket on a golden duck. Hardik Pandya and this young pacer from Punjab took three wickets each. Pakistan only managed 159 runs in 20 overs for eight wickets. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 51 runs off 34 balls, at a strike rate of 150. On the other hand, Shan Masood scored 52* runs off 42 balls. For India, skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to bat. But, India lost four wickets for 31 runs as Pakistani bowlers were in full song. But, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya’s partnership ensured that India kept themselves on track to chase down the target. Virat remained not out on 82* runs off 53 balls, including six fours and four sixes.

He also won the player of the match award for such a crucial knock. It was a pre-Diwali gift for all Indian fans from the former skipper. In order to celebrate that inning, Google CEO Sundar Pichai also tweeted. But, in reply to that one Pakistani fan said that he needs to see the first three overs. It seemed that he wanted to tell Sundar Pichai to see the first three overs while India were batting. He also confirmed that later. But, the Google CEO came up with an epic reply that he has seen those overs as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh rocked with the ball. Indian fans loved the way in which Sundar Pichai took a dig at that fan.
