Kevin Pietersen, the former England batsman, has named the contenders who are capable of winning the IPL 2020. The competition, which is being played in UAE, has entered its next stage with all the groups having just played at least seven games at this point.

As of now, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders are the first four teams of the points table while Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab are struggling in the bottom half.

Kevin Pietersen feels Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are the top choices for the IPL trophy this year. The batting legend stated that the ongoing season of the IPL is a three-horse race.

He explains his reason for choosing the three teams

Curiously, neither Delhi Capitals nor Royal Challengers Bangalore has won IPL till now while Mumbai Indians have taken the IPL trophy home four times. All the three IPL sides, however, look set to make it to the end of the playoffs.

“Even though they narrowly lost to KXIP on Thursday, Royal Challengers Bangalore are playing some very good cricket now. They went close to pulling off a miracle victory there,” Kevin Pietersen wrote in his column for betwayinsider.

He added further that RCB’s bowling is coming up with the best more often. They have a blend of spin bowling that is beginning to work and deliver results, close by a batting line-up that everyone thoroughly knows about. They are performing in a balanced way in this IPL 2020. He thinks RCB is one of the runners in a three-horse competition to win the tournament.

Pietersen also talked about Delhi Capitals. He said that DC has an all-rounding team that is great. Unmistakably, the Mumbai Indians are ruling the ongoing tournament and firing big time, as well. They have a considerable line-up in all their departments. For Pietersen, they are the three teams that can win the ongoing season of the IPL.
