Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants crossed their swords in the eliminator of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023. The MI skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, the five-time champions managed to post a total of 182 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first 20 overs of the game.
Later on, the Lucknow Super Giants collapsed drastically while chasing the target and lost the match by a big margin; eventually, Krunal Pandya’s men got knocked out of the tournament with this defeat in the eliminator.
Cricket fans also came up with a lot of different and interesting reactions or responses on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Some of the fans trolled LSG whereas a few others lavished praise on the Mumbai Indians for their brilliant performance in this all-important eliminator clash.

Speaking of the entire action of the match, Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav played the crucial knocks of 43 and 33 runs off 23 and 20 balls respectively. Other than these two, the quick came of 23 runs off just 12 balls by Nehal Wadhera in the lower order helped MI to post a total of 182 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first innings. Naveen ul Haq and Yash Thakur scalped 4 and 3 wickets respectively for LSG alongside one wicket claimed by Mohsin Khan.
While defending the target, the MI bowling attack bundled up the LSG only on the score of 101 runs courtesy of the brilliant five-wicket haul claimed by the young bowling sensation Akash Madhwal; he conceded just 5 runs and scalped five wickets in 3.3 overs to help Mumbai winning the match by a big margin of 81 runs to enter the second qualifier of the tournament.
Other than Akash, Chris Jordan, and Piyush Chawla also claimed one wicket each for Mumbai Indians. Now, MI will lock horns with the Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier for a place in the final of the tournament against the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings.
