Kiran More has a firm belief that Rohit Sharma would soon lead the Indian team

Kiran More has faith that Virat Kohli would soon make way for Rohit Sharma to lead the team in some formats. He stated that everything would be clearer after the upcoming England tour.

The captaincy debate of Virat Kohli – Rohit Sharma has been going on for a long time. Many people believe Kohli should transfer some of his white-ball team responsibility to Rohit Sharma. He has an excellent record in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Experts and fans on the other side have pointed towards Kohli’s not so spectacular international record. The team has lost tournaments in the semi-finals and finals under him.

Kiran More thinks that the Boards decision drives all these things. He believes Rohit Sharma would soon get a chance. Virat has played a big part in his career under MS Dhoni. The Indian team had record-breaking wins in the bilateral series under Kohli’s captaincy. But the Indian skipper is yet to win the ICC and IPL trophy. Rohit Sharma on the other hand has won five IPL titles, an Asia Cup, and the Nidahas trophy.

Captaining an international side in all three formats is not an easy task

Kiran More lauded Kohli’s effort in trying to captain the Indian team in all three formats. But he opined that would set an example for generations to follow if he split the responsibility with someone.

He believes spit captaincy can work well in India. The vision of the senior players regarding the team’s future is important. Virat Kohli not only has to captain the team but also perform well and win the matches, in every format. That is a big responsibility for anyone.

Virat Kohli would have to split the responsibility of captaincy at one point. It would be a healthy thing to do. Rohit Sharma has done well as a captain in IPL and other matches. Thereby he should be given a chance out of respect. Kohli is a human too. His mind also gets tired at some point and splitting the responsibility would give him adequate rest.

Virat Kohli has a golden opportunity of stamping his name in the history of cricket. He can lead the Indian team into winning the first-ever WTC final. The win in the five-Test series against England after that would prove his authority as a captain.
