India and Punjab Kings opening batsman KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are set to board a charter flight from Chennai to Mumbai. They would join their teammates ahead of the long tour to the United Kingdom.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are set to board a charter flight from Chennai to Mumbai. They would join their teammates ahead of the long tour to the United Kingdom.

It has been reported that Rahul, who was diagnosed with acute appendicitis during IPL 2021, has recovered completely. He has regained his fitness and is ready to travel to England.

The BCCI has made the arrangements for 3 charter flights to Mumbai. The flights are from Chennai, Hyderabad, and Delhi. Agarwal and Rahul will reportedly travel by car from Karnataka. Then they will board their plane from Chennai. They would have to undergo a strict 8-day quarantine along with regular Covid-19 tests in Mumbai.

India's tour of England includes the much-anticipated World Test Championship Final against New Zealand. It will be followed by a 5-Test series against England. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have both lost their opening spots in the team. It has been given to Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Rahul and Agarwal are unlikely to feature in the final clash against New Zealand at Southampton.

India will probably continue with the same batting combination in the England series

The Karnataka duo would probably get a few chances in the latter half of the tour against England.

The last time KL Rahul played a Test series in England, he had visibly struggled in even swing-friendly conditions. He had put on board 299 runs across 10 innings. Most of the score came from his 149 in the last game of that series.

Agarwal has not yet played Test cricket in the country. He has traveled with the India 'A' team before. Rahul and Mayank Agarwal performed brilliantly for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League 2021.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are both gave highly impressive performances in the IPL. Rahul once again was the top-3 run-scorers throughout the season. He accrued a total of 331 runs from 7 innings. He had an average of 66.71. Mayank Agarwal was the skipper of Punjab Kings in their last game of the postponed edition. He was not too behind Rahul with 260 runs at 43.33.
