MI batsmen showed their supremacy in IPL 2020
The 5th, 6th, and 7th positions were occupied by MI batsmen only. These were Ishan Kishan, Quinton De Kock, and Suryakumar Yadav respectively. Kishan was the best batsman among the trio, amassing 516 in 16 matches. The left-handed middle-order batsman averaged an impressive 55.73 and had a very decent strike rate of 145.73 this season. De Kock was sidelined most of the season, but this did not stop him from scoring 503 runs. Yadav, who sacrificed his wicket for the team in the final, gathered an impressive 480 in just 16 matches.
RCB batsmen showed why their batting line-up was one of the strongest in the IPL 2020
Although MI dominated the middle list, the 7th, 8th, and 9th positions were taken by RCB batsmen, namely Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli, and AB De Villiers. De Villiers was instrumental in RCB’s qualification, scoring 454 runs. Kohli was only 12 runs ahead of his teammate, finishing the season with 466 runs.
However, in spite of such batting firepower in the team, RCB’s standout batsman was Devdutt Padikkal. The 21-year old brought stability to the RCB batting lineup, which was evident as he always managed to give his team a strong start. Paddikal finished 7th on the list, finishing with a total of 473 runs and a strike rate of 124.80.
