KL Rahul, the captain of Kings XI Punjab, has praised his team after its impressive win over Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets. Rahul has stated that their performance on Monday (26 October) was like a complete team performance. KXIP has taken the 4th position with 12 points in IPL 2020. The Punjab team has registered its fifth consecutive win.
KXIP chased down the target of 150 given with ease in the 19th over. In the absence of Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh has been opening the innings for KXIP. Singh shone with the bat and scored an unbeaten 66 runs. Chris Gayle carried on with his great form with the bat and scored 51 runs.
Chatting at the end of the match, KL Rahul said his team never lost confidence in spite of losing six of its initial seven games in the ongoing IPL season. He, at that point, show praise for his IPL teammates, saying that the team executed everything flawlessly against the Kolkata-based IPL team.
“We decided to play positive cricket. We believed that things can turn around. A complete team performance. Batting looking good, bowling looking good, fielding has always been good,”

The KXIP captain additionally praised Mandeep, who has recently lost his dad. Mandeep has been setting up boldface for the team’s motivation. He also praised the team’s coach, Anil Kumble.
“With the bubble, you don’t have your closed ones. The way he (Mandeep) played, it makes everyone emotional. When you have Anil Kumble as the coach, it’s not surprising that we have two leg-spinners. Complete team effort, a lot of credit has to go to the coaches,” .

The right-handed batsman finished up by confessing that keeping Gayle out of the playing XI at first was a hard choice. He added that this is the hungriest he has ever seen Gayle. Gayle always stays positive, pushing the young cricketers of the team. KL Rahul said that the team has observed Gayle in the dressing room, and just his presence means a lot for the whole KXIP team.
