The veteran Australian opener David Warner has been a good form with the bat of late in the Indian Premier League. Notably, the senior southpaw is currently in the role of skipper for the Delhi Capitals in the absence of their regular skipper Rishabh Pant. Apart from the team’s successive losses and his captaincy, Warner is also in the centre of discussions for his batting in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has sparked a new debate and controversy with his critical tweet about David Warner. Pathan pointed out the slow strike rate of David Warner with the bat while playing for Delhi Capitals.
He has scored 56, 37, 65, and 51 so far in the tournament but has failed to rescue the team from the danger of poor outings. Subsequently, controversy has also been started on the micro-blogging site Twitter where a few cricket fans pointed out the slow strike rates of former Indian skipper Virat Kohli alongside current skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter, KL Rahul.
Here's what Irfan Pathan tweeted for David Warner:
How come no one pointing out strike rate of David Warner?? He is been playing with low strike for quite sometime now…

Here’s how fans reacted after Irfan Pathan’s tweet:
Different yardsticks for different people. Kohli ke time pe toh mauke dekhte hain yeh SR ke chunnu

Don't try to make it between Indian and Foreign commentators. Simon said his opinion and it takes guts for a commentator. Unlike others who only see what they want to see. Simon has criticised players of other nations as well.

How can he if his teammates are continuously failing? Take risks or stable the innings? U know the answer is latter

I thought this was the main talking point among commentators in yesterday’s match @bhogleharsha

We need couple of top orders players to play anchor innings. It's okay if SR is not too high. @davidwarner31
