In the semi-final, India lost to England as Jos Buttler and his men thrashed them by 10 wickets. Hence, fans were not happy with the performance of team India.

Now, all big-name players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have taken a rest from the whole New Zealand tour. Even, head coach Rahul Dravid has taken a rest from this tour. So, Hardik Pandya has got the opportunity to lead the team under VVS Laxman. On 18 November 2022, India and the Kiwis were ready to begin the series. But, heavy rain abandoned the first game.

Board members also blamed the selectors for taking wrong decisions regarding players’ workload management. During Chetan Sharma’s tenure, eight different captains managed the team in just one year. They also rushed to include Jasprit Bumrah in the team. As a result, he ended up not being a part of the squad for the World Cup.

They also picked KL Rahul straight into the team after eight months gap. Then, he failed continuously with the bat in both the Asia Cup and World Cup. During Chetan Sharma’s tenure, they also removed Virat Kohli from the captaincy from both the ODIs and Tests. So, after this sacking, fans went crazy as they termed it as ‘Karma’.
