Over the past few years, Kuldeep Yadav has been one of the most talked-about Indian cricketers. The left-arm wrist-spinner gave an impressive performance in the 2014 U-19 World Cup. He picked up a hat trick in that tournament and there was no looking back for him after his international debut.

Yadav could make the opposition batsmen confused by his subtle variations. He soon became the fan-favorite and one of the biggest match-winners in the short format of cricket. But with the arrival of new talent and variations in the team, his chances of playing for India have become less.

After India’s loss in the 2017 championship final against Pakistan, India broke the partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin. Virat Kohli decided that wrist spin was the way to go forward and introduced the duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal

The partnership was a huge success and helped India win ODIs consistently in a foreign land. The duo destroyed the batting lineup of the opponents in the middle over and batsmen had little clue of their spin and drift.

But the partnership between Yadav and Chahal was broken after England’s onslaught against India in the World Cup final. Jadeja was brought into the mix and the duo has not played together since then. Kuldeep Yadav commented on how it affected his bowling attack. It was not easy when the partnership was broken and his mindset and performance were affected. The duo used to pick up 5-6 wickets in the middle overs but that stopped after the partnership ended.

Kuldeep Yadav is confident of getting a call up for the T20 World Cup

Kuldeep Yadav does not agree with the buzz that he is not a good enough T20 bowler. He argued that he has not received constant chances to prove himself in IPL or team India.

However, his records prove his excellence even in the short format of cricket. In just 21 T20 games that he has played for team India, Yadav picked up 39 wickets. He maintained an impressive average of 13.76.

Kuldeep Yadav is certain that he could prove his capability in the Sri Lanka tour. Then he could get selected for T20 World Cup. He concluded that if he would get the opportunity then he could give a consistent performance on the field.
