India and Australia are taking on each other in the first four-match Test series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The visitors’ skipper Pat Cummins won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first at the tricky surface of VCA in Nagpur. Batting first, the Aussie batting lineup completely surrendered to the Indian bowling attack led by two veteran off-spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

The Ashwin-Jadeja duo scalped a total of eight wickets including a fifer by Jadeja and three wickets scalped by Ravichandran Ashwin. The Indian fans were also overwhelmed by the performance of the Indian bowlers in the first innings as they bundled up Pat Cummins’ men with only the score of 177 runs in the first innings.

Indian cricket fans took to Twitter to come to express their ecstasy and lavish praises on the Indian team for a brilliant outing on the opening day of the Nagpur Test.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Speaking of the match at the moment, the Indian team has started their first innings and scored 38 runs so far for no loss. Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are there in the middle on the individual scores of 32 and 5 runs respectively at the time of filling this copy.

Earlier, it was only Marnus Labuschagne who played the highest individual knock of 49 runs for Australia alongside a 37-run knock played by the former skipper and batting superstar Steve Smith. Apart from Smith and Labuschagne, only Peter Handscomb and Pat Cummins played the 30+ knocks of 31 and 36 runs respectively.

The star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja announced his comeback to international cricket in a convincing style as he scalped five wickets by conceding just 47 runs in 22 overs with eight maiden overs to his name.

Other than Ravindra Jadeja, the veteran off-spin all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin also scalped three wickets at the cost of only 18 runs in nine overs.
