The third day of the Indian T20 League 2023 witnessed a great clash between Bangalore and Mumbai on Sunday, April 2 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Both teams have one of the biggest fanbases in the world and the fans expected a thrilling contest between the two teams, but that didn't happen as the five-time champions suffered a 8-wicket loss against Bangalore.
Meanwhile, a shameful incident took place during the match as some Bangalore fans could be seen chanting 'Vadapav' to mock the Mumbai-based franchise's captain Rohit Sharma. Many fans have criticized this act on social media and said that this is not acceptable as Rohit also leads India on an international platform.

We didn’t execute well with the ball: Rohit Sharma
Talking about the match, Bangalore opted to bowl first after winning the toss and displayed a brilliant bowling performance and restricted Mumbai on the score of 171 runs, however, they conceded some extra run at the end. But they easily chased the target as openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli stitched a brilliant 148-run partnership for the first wicket. Kohli stayed till end to take his team to their first victory of the season.
Rohit later talked about the mistakes they did during the match in the post-match interview and said that they didn't execute with the ball well and also mentioned that they were 30 or 40 runs short. Rohit also appreciated their young batter Tilak Verma who smashed 84 runs and took out the team from a dangerous spot.
"Didn’t have a great start with the bat in the first six overs. But, it was a really good effort from Tilak and a few other batters. But, we didn’t execute well with the ball. It was a good pitch to bat on. (On Tilak Verma) He is a positive person, quite talented as well. Some of the shots he played, showed a lot of courage. Hats off to Tilak to get us to a competitive total. It was a good pitch to bat on. We didn’t set any target but we didn't even bat to half of our potential and we got to 170. Probably 30-40 runs more would have been ideal."
