West Indies Women beat Australia Women by 7 wickets in the second T20I at the North Sydney Oval on Monday. With an all-round performance, West Indies skipper Hayley Mathews led her team to a glorious victory. In a high-scoring game, Mathews smacked a brilliant century to chase 213 runs in 20 overs after picking up three wickets with the balls.

Earlier, after winning the Toss West Indies, skipper Hayley Mathews opted to bowl first. Her decision went well with the team, as Australia lost two wickets for just seven runs. Skipper Alyssa Healy was dismissed for a duck by Chinelle Henry, while Mathews dismissed Tahila McGrath. However, after their departure, openers Beath Mooney and Ellyse Perry added 70 runs for the third wicket.

Mooney, in her inning, scored 29 runs off 22 balls with the help of five boundaries. Once again, Matthew broke the furious partnership and made a comeback in the game. On the other hand, Perry scored a magnificent half-century as she hammered 70 runs off 46 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes. In the end, Phoebe Litchfield's brilliant half-century helped Australia cross the 200-run mark. Litchfield, in her inning, scored an unbeatable 56 runs off just 19 balls. For the West Indies, Mathews clinched three wickets.

Hayley Mathews single-handedly clinched the game out of Aussies' hand 

Chasing a huge total, the West Indies got off to a shaky start. Opener Shakiba Gajnabi was dismissed by Megan Schutt. However, after that, the West Indies batters didn't look back and scored a historic victory. Matthews, along with Stefanie Taylor, added 174 runs for the second wicket. Taylor, in her inning, scored 59 runs off 41 deliveries with the help of 11 fours. On the other hand, Mathews smacked a brilliant century, scoring 132 runs off 64 balls.

Mathews, in her innings, scored 20 fours and five sixes. Her amazing batting performance turned the game in their favour as they registered a comfortable victory. Her amazing match-winning performance earned Matthews the Player of the Match award. Meanwhile, Schutt was the best bowler for Australia, taking two wickets in a high-scoring game.
