Lanka Premier League 2022- Full Squads of all teams

The Lanka Premier League 2022 is all set for its third edition. On July 5, the auction for the ‘Player draft’ took place. Five franchises had the power to retain up to six players, four Sri Lankan and two overseas. They also had the option to directly sight two Sri Lanka and two overseas players. 

The current trophy holder Jaffna Kings retained their captain Thisara Perera as well as their main spinner Maheesh Theekshana. Wicket-keeper batter from Afghanistan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, as well as Shoaib Malik, have also been retained by the champions. Evin Lewis was their International Ruby category buy. 

Galle Gladiators have already signed nine players before the player draft took place. Sarfaraz Ahmed, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, Nuwan Thushara and Paulina Tharanga were the players retained from the last season. Iman Wasim has been signed from the international Ruby category. 

Colombo Stars have retained Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Seekkuge Prasanna and Jeffrey Vandersay from last season. They have also used their direct signing to sign Charith Asalanka and Niroshan Dickwella. From the International Ruby category, the Colombo Stars have gotten themselves Dwaine Pretorius. 

Kandy Falcons have made two pre-draft direct signings of Chamika Karunaratne and Wanindu Hasaranga. Meanwhile, Kamindu Mendis was retained. From the International Ruby category, the Falcons have gotten the West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite. 

Dambulla Giants retained their captain Dasun Shanaka, Ramesh Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep and Tharindu Rathnayake. They also used their pre-draft signing for Bhanuka Rajapaksa and the Australian Ben Cutting. D'arcy Short was their signing from the International Ruby category.
