Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been going through a rough patch in his career for a while now. He has not had many noteworthy performances in the international circuit or the Indian T20 League. However, the star batter was able to retain his position in the ICC player rankings. To his surprise, he has dropped in ODI rankings in recent changes.

Virat Kohli fell to third place in the rankings, with Pakistan's Imam ul Haq taking his place at second. Notably, Imam has had a brilliant run in ODI cricket recently. In Pakistan's recent series win against West Indies, the southpaw was awarded as the player of the series. He scored 199 runs in three ODI matches, including a half-century in all three. In addition, he has scored fifty-plus scores in his last seven ODI innings.

As for the Indian batter, things have not been easy for him. He stepped down as India's captain to focus on his game, but he still hasn't gotten the desired results. The 33-year-old has gone more than two and a half years without a century. The world is eagerly waiting for Virat to score his 71st international ton.

His poor form continued in the Indian T20 League 2022 as well. In 16 games, he scored 341 runs at an average of 22.73. In the tournament, he had a strike rate of 115.98 and two fifties. Virat Has currently taken a break from India's five-match T20I series against South Africa. He will return to the Indian team for the one-off Test match in England starting on the 1st of July.

In the meantime, India also lost their fourth place in the ODI team rankings. The Babar Azam-led team surpassed the Indian team to fourth place. The Pakistan team whitewashed the West Indies team in the three-match ODI series recently, which caused their rise in the rankings. The men in green have recently been on fire in all formats. Prior to this, they also beat Australia 2-1 in their last ODI series.
