The details for the Indian T20 League venues have been revealed. As per reports, 55 matches will be played across three venues in Mumbai and 15 matches will be played in Pune. Wankhede Stadium, Brebon Stadium, and the DY Patil Stadium are the venues in Mumbai. The MCA Stadium is the only chosen stadium outside of Mumbai.
Additionally, each team will play four games at Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium. There will be three games each for every team at the MCA Stadium and the Brebon Stadium.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the Venues for the playoffs have not been decided yet. However, the two dates that are in consideration for the start of the event are the 26th and the 27th of March. 26th is the preferred date by the broadcasters. In any case, the tournament will conclude on the 29th of May. The only difference will be the addition of a single doubleheader match. The final decision is yet to be taken. The council meeting to decide the schedule will take place on the 24th of February.
Meanwhile, all the ten teams are ready with their complete squads but will have some issues as some players might not be available for the entire event. Cricket Australia has confirmed that some of the players will not be available until the 6th of April. England and New Zealand players will also have to leave the tournament before it concludes as they have a Test series scheduled at the start of June against England.
It will be difficult for some teams to fill in these gaps as most do not have the right bench strength. Australians and English players are very important for the tournament.
