Two of the NBA's biggest superstars, LeBron James and Stephen Curry, are considering participating in the upcoming Paris Olympics, according to reports. James, the North American Basketball League's all-time leading scorer, has missed the past two Olympics but has expressed interest in returning to the international stage with USA Basketball at the 2024 Paris Games.

Notably, the US national team had a disappointing outing in the Basketball World Cup, losing to Canada in the bronze-medal game and eventual champions Germany in a semi-final clash. ESPN stated that James is one of several top players interested in competing in Paris. Curry, a four-time NBA champion, has also expressed his desire to play on the Olympic squad guided by Warriors coach Steve Kerr, the report says.

Meanwhile, The Athletic said the two-time Olympic champion and four-time NBA champion, James, has already called multiple stars in a bid to recruit them. He is targeting a US squad that seeks a fifth gold medal in a row next year in the French capital.

The power forward has led the USA to Olympic gold in 2008 at Beijing and 2012 at London but has not played since then. James has been part of the 2004 Athens Olympics bronze-winning team and the 2006 Basketball World Cup bronze medalists. However, the 38-year-old is aware that the forthcoming Paris Games could be his and several other big players' last dance with USA Basketball.

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is one of the notable players James has reached out to, sources told The Athletic. Durant, who will soon turn 35, is a two-time NBA champion who has already made significant contributions to U.S. Olympic gold medal efforts in London, Rio and Tokyo.

James has also reportedly approached the talents of his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, Golden State's versatile Draymond Green, and Boston's emerging star Jayson Tatum.  Phoenix's three-time NBA All-Star Devin Booker and the veteran player of Golden State Warriors Chris Paul, who secured gold medals in 2008 and 2012, are also reported to be in line to get recruited in the upcoming Olympics.
