Getting a hattrick in cricket is not the easiest job as it takes a while to set up players. It becomes even more difficult in a T20 game as the number of overs is very few. However, there have been as many as 20 hattricks in the history of the Indian T20 League.
The latest hat-trick came from the arm of Harshal Patel also known as Purple Patel. He got the hattrick against Mumbai who had one of the best batting line up. Two of the players that he got the wickets of are not at all easy to dismiss. He got the wickets of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Rahul Chahar. He went on to win the purple cap that season.
Amit Mishra has the most hattricks in the history of the tournament. He has a total of three hattricks. All three of his hattricks have come for different teams. His first came playing for Delhi, the second came when he was in the Deccan Chargers squad, the final hattrick came for the Hyderabad team.
Makhaya Ntini was the first overseas player that got a hattrick in the Indian T20 League. His hattrick came when he represented Chennai. Playing against Kolkata, he got the wickets of Sourav Ganguly, Debabrata Das, and David Hussey. This is not an easy lineup to get through, but the South African managed to do it.
