IPL 2020 - mid-season transfer

The Indian Premier League has come as a major relief in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Each one of the individuals who are associated with the competition needs to remain inside a bio-secure bubble.

The BCCI has set up an incredible show in the UAE and cricketers have performed as well as they could. However, a few players haven’t got the chance to play for their franchise yet and are sitting tight for their turn. Some of them may play for another group through mid-season transfer in IPL 2020.

What is the mid-season transfer in IPL 2020?

The BCCI permits franchises to internally exchange players starting with one team then onto the next. Until last season, the BCCI permitted the exchange of just uncapped players but this time they have permitted the trade or move of capped players, as well.

Rules and timings of mid-season transfer in IPL 2020?

There are two rules for mid-season transfer in IPL 2020:

1) The player should not have played multiple matches before the date of transfer.

2) The exchange may be relevant when the franchise has played 7 games each.
