On 4 November 2022, Ireland took on New Zealand in Adelaide in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. In this tournament, New Zealand have managed to win three out of its four games. On the other hand, Ireland managed to win a match against England. So, the Kiwi fans were hoping to seal their place in the semi-finals by winning this match.
On the other hand, the Irish fans were hoping to see another spirited performance from their players. Speaking of the match, Ireland won the toss and asked the Kiwis to bat first. For New Zealand, Finn Allen and Devon Conway came out to open the innings.

Allen scored 32 runs off 18 balls, including five fours and one six. Conway failed to score quickly as he scored 28 runs off 33 balls, at a strike rate of 84.84. But, skipper Kane Williamson showed his class as he scored 61 runs off 35 balls. He hit five fours and three sixes, at a strike rate of 174.28. But, Ireland’s Joshua Little came up with a fantastic performance with the ball.
He took three wickets for 22 runs in his four overs. In his last over, Little managed to take a hat-trick against New Zealand. That incident took place in the 19th over of the Kiwis' innings. Joshua Little dismissed skipper Kane Williamson, James Neesham, and Mitchell Santner in three consecutive deliveries of that over. Thus, he completed the second hat-trick of this ongoing World Cup. Joshua Little also became the second Irish to take a hat-trick in the history of the 20-20 World Cup. Before him, UAE’s Karthik Meiyappan took a hat-trick during the qualifiers.
