Indian T20 League 2023 is ready to happen in the next year. All franchises are gearing up for the upcoming season as a mini-auction is going to happen in mid-December. So, all teams are planning to finalize their list of retained and released players. Even, the Indian Cricket Board have also said that they need to share their lists by 15 November 2022.

The Kolkata franchise are also looking to finalize their players ahead of the next season. There are some reports that the franchise might look to trade Lockie Ferguson from the Gujarat franchise with Shivam Mavi. Now, the Kiwi pacer came up with a social activity that made the Kolkata fans crazy.

Lockie Ferguson played last year for the Gujarat Franchise in the Indian T20 League

Speaking of the post, the Kolkata franchise shared an update on 8 November 2022. They confirmed that James Foster has been elevated to the position of Assistant coach. So, they shared an Instagram post to share the news with their fans. However, fans also spotted that the former Kolkata player, Lockie Ferguson liked the post.

Seeing such an activity, fans went crazy as they started to think that the rumour of the Kiwi pacer’s comeback is just a matter of time. Speaking of Lockie Ferguson, he is currently busy playing the ongoing 20-20 World Cup for New Zealand in Australia. His team will be in action again on 9 November in the first semi-final of the tournament against Pakistan in Sydney. Ferguson has taken seven wickets so far in four matches of this World Cup. 

In the last edition of the Indian T20 League, he played for the eventual champion Gujarat franchise. His form was crucial to help the franchise to win the title in their maiden attempt. In that season, Lockie Ferguson took 12 wickets in 13 matches, at an economy of 8.96. In the final against the Rajasthan franchise, Lockie Ferguson bowled the fastest delivery of that season (157.3 kph).
