India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been subjected to vile abuse on social media by a section of fans after India’s loss to Pakistan in the 20-20 World Cup. While every Indian bowler was taken apart by Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in their unbeaten 152 run stand that gave Pakistan a 10 wicket win, Shami had the worst figures and gave 43 runs in 3.5 overs.

The pacer, however, has found the support of the Indian cricket fraternity, who have sided with Shami and slammed the trollers. Virender Sehwag was the first one to come to Shami's rescue and said that Shami has more India in his heart than the people who are trolling him. Ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has not been selected in the India squad for the 20-20 World Cup also took to his Twitter account and said he is proud of Shami. Senior players like VVS Laxman, Irfan Pathan, Aakash Chopra, Yusuf Pathan also took to their social media accounts to lend support to Mohammed Shami.

Meanwhile, the loss against Pakistan has put India in a tricky position. The team need to regroup and beat New Zealand. If Pakistan beat New Zealand and New Zealand beat India, then Virat Kohli’s men could be in a spot of bother.
