'Love you ifti chachu' - Fans laud Pakistan batter Iftikhar Ahmed as he debunks fake distasteful statement on India in his name

Star Pakistan batter Iftikhar Ahmed was recently in the headlines for a reported statement on Team India, which was shared by an X user based in Pakistan. Following that, it gathered a lot of reactions from the cricket fans of both countries across the border. A few former Indian cricketers also expressed their views on the same.

The statement was quite demeaning for Team India and it also attracted criticism from the star Pakistan. But in a surprise to all the cricket fans and cricketing fraternity, Iftikhar Ahmed took to his official X handle to clarify things and made it very clear that he never made such a statement.

“Whenever We have a match against India, it feels like we are playing with street children,” wrote an X user and credited this statement to Iftikhar Ahmed’s name.

Almost five days after this tweet, the 32-year-old star batter couldn’t hold back and came up with a blunt and aggressive tweet from his official X account.

“I’ve been made aware of this statement which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement. Please stop circulating false news & report this individual for spreading hate. @X @elonmusk, please ban this account as people are misusing the blue tick,” wrote the blistering right-hander in his tweet.

Speaking of cricket, Iftikhar is currently in action with Colombo Strikers in the ongoing edition of Lanka Premier League 2023. Prior to that, he was playing in the Global T20 League in Canada where his side made it to the final of the tournament.

Apart from that, he has also been included in the Pakistan squad for the ODI series against Afghanistan and the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. He could play a crucial role in Pakistan’s plans for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

Coming back to Iftikhar’s clarification on a fake statement credited to his name; it also attracted contrasting opinions from the fans as some of them lauded the star batter for taking a clear stand and making his stance clear.
