Fans witnessed a heated exchange between Shahid Afridi and Naveen-ul-Haq after the game of Galle Gladiators and Kandy Tuskers in LPL 2020 on Monday.

Allegedly, Naveen, an Afghanistani youngster, made some insulting comments towards Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir. Knowing about the incident, Shahid Afridi took matters into his hand and came forward for the rescue of his fellow national. The incident began after 18th over, in which Amir had hit Naveen for a four.

The incident turned ugly, and both the cricketers came face to face before the other cricketers separated them. However, both of them continued creating a scene in the 20th over, when Amir hit Naveen for a six again. At the end of the game, the issue escalated. Mohammad Amir became angry with the conduct of the 21-year old Tuskers pacer. He said something furiously to Naveen.

The other cricketers from both the team intervened again in the hope of bringing the situation under control. However, Shahid Afridi, who is the skipper of Galle Gladiators, came forward to talk to Naveen about his conduct. When the players were greeting each other after the game, Afridi spoke to Naveen. Afridi made it clear through his expression that Naveen’s conduct hasn’t impressed him at all.

Shahid Afridi gives the detail of the conversation

Many talented bowlers feared the veteran all-rounder, Afridi, for his batting pyrotechnics during his international cricket career. For many years now, he has focused on playing franchise cricket. Afridi posted on his social media about the conversation between him and Naveen after the game. The Pakistan legend mentioned that he had suggested the Afghanistan player not to take part in any offensive talks. He should only focus on his game.

In his tweet, he further added that the basic spirit of the game is to respect the teammates and the opponents.
