Ross Taylor played his last international game for New Zealand on Tuesday in the third ODI against the Netherlands. New Zealand beat the visitors by 115 runs in that game to register a 3-0 series whitewash. Interestingly, it was Taylor who took the final catch to seal the game and the series for his home team.
A lot of stalwarts and popular cricketers congratulated the 38-year-old on his illustrious career. Taylor received a lot of love from the spectators during his farewell game as well. The batter made his debut in international cricket in 2006 and went on to become one of the greatest cricketers to have played for New Zealand.
Recently, Jason Holder also came up with a touching message on Taylor's retirement. In a video, he congratulated the Kiwi on an outstanding career. The all-rounder also thanked Taylor for his contributions to West Indies cricket, as he did feature in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
“Heartiest congratulations to you on an outstanding career, you have been a tough competitor over the years. Firstly, thank you for your contributions to West Indies cricket by coming over and playing in our CPL league. You have done heaps for us. Trust me, a lot of guys who have rubbed shoulders with you have been enabled to lead on your expertise,” said Jason Holder in the video.

As for Holder, he is currently playing for Lucknow in the Indian T20 league. Among others, even the legendary Sachin Tendulkar wrote some heartwarming words on Taylor's retirement in a Tweet.
“You’ve been a great ambassador of the game Ross! It was wonderful playing against you. The way you reinvented yourself over the years to adapt is an inspiration for all the young kids aspiring to be cricketers. Heartiest congratulations on a fabulous career,” read Sachin Tendulkar's Tweet.
