Lucknow players to sport jerseys with mom names against Kolkata

The world will celebrate Mother's day on the 8th of May. The Lucknow team members will also join the celebration by giving a tribute to their mothers. The players will sport their mother's names on the jerseys in the game against Kolkata on the 7th of May.

The Lucknow team's official Twitter handle made the announcement on the match day. "This one’s for you, Maa. Now THAT’s how you prepare for Mother’s Day - the #SuperGiant way!" read the caption of the team.

Meanwhile, the men in turquoise have had an incredible first season. They have won seven of their ten games in the Indian T20 League 2022. They currently stand second on the points table. The team captain KL Rahul has been the best performer for the team. He has played games with consistency and scored 451 runs in 10 games. He also has hit two centuries and two half-centuries in the season. Rahul currently is the second-highest run-scorer of the season.

The young captain has also gotten support from other players. Quinton de Kock, Deepak Hooda, and Mohsin Khan have done well in the season. However, some of the all-rounders are yet to make a mark. Jason Holder, Krunal Pandya, and Marcus Stoinis have not made any significant contributions to the team.

The Lucknow team is coming out of a win from their last game against Delhi. KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda were once again crucial in setting a target of 196 runs in the match. With the ball, Mohsin Khan took his maiden four-wicket haul to win Lucknow the game close by six runs. The Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune will host their next game against Kolkata.
