India started on day 2 of the Nagpur Test from their day 1 score of 77 runs for the loss of one wicket having skipper Rohit Sharma and star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin there in the middle. Ravichandran Ashwin was the first blow for India on day 2 in the 41st over of the innings at the score of 118 runs. It was also the time when India started losing wickets at regular intervals.
At one stage, the hosts had lost 5 wickets on the score of 168 runs but still the skipper Rohit Sharma kept holding one end with determination. Eventually, the 35-year-old completed a must-require century and scored 120 runs with 15 boundaries and two sixes before falling prey to Pat Cummins.
Just after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, debutant wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharad also departed on an individual score of 8 runs and India lost 7 wickets on 240 runs. But then came the moment when the two star left-hand all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja went after the Aussie bowling attack and ended up stitching an unbeaten partnership of 81 runs for the eighth wicket at the end of day 2.
After scalping five wickets in the first innings for India, the star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also contributed brilliantly with the bat and went unbeaten with an amazing knock of 66 runs with nine boundaries. Axar Patel accompanied Jadeja with a knock of 52 runs with eight boundaries on his credit.
The fans were also overjoyed and ecstatic as India have taken the commanding position in the Nagpur Test against Pat Cummins’ men. They took to Twitter to lavish the praise on the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and all-round brilliance of Ravindra Jadeja in his comeback match after a long time.

All the talk of a doctored pitch must now be brushed aside. The so called pitch experts airing & writing their views only sowed the seeds of doubt in your own batter's mind... #INDvAUS #BorderGavaskarTrophy2023
