‘Main nahi chahta ki log bhool jaayein usko’ - Shahid Afridi on Pakistan’s star pacer

Pakistan are currently busy playing the ongoing three-match Test series at home against England. However, they have already lost the series against Ben Stokes and his men by losing the first two matches. So, in Karachi, they were looking to avoid a clean sweep. Meanwhile, Hasan Ali gas failed to get a chance in the squad for this series.

He last played a Test for Pakistan on 24 July 2022 at Galle against Sri Lanka. After that, he has not played a single game for his country across any format. Now, the former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi came up with a huge revelation about this star bowler. He said that all fans need to support a player like him, especially when he is going through a rough patch of form.

While speaking on Samaa TV, Shahid Afridi said: “Hasan team mein nahi hai. Lekin mujhe ye pata hai ki Hasan Ali ne Pakistan ke liye bohot achha perform kiya. Main nahi chahta ki log bhool jaayein usko. Meri abhi bhi baat hoti hai uss se, main khud se message karta hu usko ki himmat nahi haarni hai, comeback karna hai, domestic cricket ko seriously lena hai. Agar cricket khelna hai toh bas cricket hi khelna hai.”

Afridi also added that as senior players, they need to support players like Hasan Ali. “As a senior player, aap apne juniors ko saath leke chalte ho. Achhe vaqt me toh har koi saath rehta hai, bure vaqt me agar koi saath khada ho toh achha rehta hai. Ye hamaare Pakistan ke heroes hain, ham nahi support karenge toh aur kaun karega,” Shahid Afridi concluded.

However, before the Karachi Test, Babar Azam said that they will look to win the final Test. “We will try to pull off results in our favor. In the previous matches whatever mistakes we made which we could have avoided, the effort would be made to avoid them,” Babar told reporters on 16 December 2022.
