'Man of the Match is Navjot Singh Sidhu'- Twitter trolls Navjot Singh Siddhu for losing election

Contesting the elections for Indian National Congress, Navjot Singh Sidhu lost the elections in Punjab. Twitter trolled him for his loss.

Contesting the elections for Indian National Congress, Navjot Singh Sidhu lost the elections in Punjab. The election results in five states, including Punjab, were announced on March 10. While the final results are still pending, the early rounds of counting have nearly completely cleared the winners in all five states. While the BJP leads in all four states, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appears to be on track to form the government in Punjab.

The former India cricketer couldn't even win the seat he was running for. Sidhu was running for the assembly seat of East Amritsar. He was behind in the early hours of counting and finally lost to AAP's Jeevan Jyot Kaur.

The 58-year old showed his sportsmanship as he congratulated AAP on his Twitter handle and gracefully accepted the defeat. "The voice of the people is the voice of God …. Humbly accept the mandate of the people of Punjab …. Congratulations to Aap !!!" he wrote in his Tweet.

As soon as Sidhu was defeated, his name started trending on Twitter. Users began trolling the former cricketer for losing the election by such a large margin. "Sidhu has done to Congress what he done many times as a cricketer: run better batsmen out and then get out himself," one person said.

Interestingly, People also trolled Sidhu for losing to Bhagwant Mann as they both have a history together. When Bhagwant Mann was a contestant on the show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge', judged by Navjot Singh Siddhu, Mann was eliminated.
