New Zealand will be up against India in a crucial game on Sunday, October 31. The match is very important and many are seeing it as a virtual knockout. New Zealand and India have lost their opening games to Pakistan and will face Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia in their final three games, and most likely will end up winning the matches. Thus, the winner of the India-New Zealand game is likely to qualify alongside Pakistan.

Ahead of this massive game, New Zealand were concerned about the fitness of Martin Guptill. The opener was hit on the toe by Haris Rauf in the game against Pakistan and there were doubts about his participation against India.

However, Kiwi pacer Trent Boult has confirmed that Guptill has recovered from the blow and will be available for selection against India. Guptill has been going through an extended lean patch but still is one of the trump cards for New Zealand owing to his experience and match-winning abilities.

Boult also said he is looking to replicate a Shaheen Afrdi against India. Afridi was at his best and bamboozled the Indian batters with his sheer pace and swing, picking up the wickets of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Boult, who is pretty similar to Afridi said, “The way Shaheen bowled was amazing, hopefully, it swings for me as well and I can do what Shaheen did in the other night against India,” Boult said.
