New Zealand take 2-0 lead in T20I series against Australia
In response to New Zealand's 219 runs target, the visitors got off to a good start as they smashed 33 runs in the first three overs. Southee dismissed Matthew Wade in the fourth over to restrict Australia's chase. But the visitors continued to bat without any fear, and seven overs into the hunt, Australia was 64/1. After Finch's dismissal, the entire Australian middle-order collapsed. The Australian team was soon found struggling at 113/6 before Marcus Stoinis, and Daniel Sams came out to bat. The duo formed a 92-run stand for the seventh wicket in just 37 balls, but New Zealand held their nerve in the final over to dominate.
Guptill was also named the player of the match for his fantastic performance with the bat. During the post-match presentation ceremony, the opening batsman was happy to have scored such valuable runs for his side. The Kiwis now have a 2-0 advantage in the 5-match series. The third T20I between both teams will take place on March 03.
