On 22 December 2022, team India took on Bangladesh in Mirpur in the second and final match of the ongoing Test series. However, the Men in Blue won the series opener convincingly by a margin of 188 runs. Kuldeep Yadav made an excellent comeback as he won the player of the match award.
He scored vital 40 runs with the bat in the first innings while taking eight wickets with the ball in two innings. So, fans were happy to see him in such a form after a long time. He played in that match for team India after a gap of nearly two years (22 months). But, after the clash, Kuldeep said that he never felt it that way.

Kuldeep Yadav said: “Kahne ke liye toh do saal hain par mujhe kabhi feel hi nahi hua (It might be nearly two years (22 months) but I never felt it that way. If I wouldn’t play any cricket post-injury, then it's a struggle. But for the last year, I have been continuously playing white-ball cricket and also played red-ball series against New Zealand (A series). I bowled long spells in that series. If you are with the team (national), then you don’t feel that pressure.”
However, during the second Test, KL Rahul came out for the toss and lost it. Bangladesh opted to bat first. But, thee, Rahul confirmed that Kuldeep Yadav has been dropped from the playing XI as Jaydev Unadkat replaced him. It was a huge moment for the pacer as he got a chance to play for team India in a Test match after making a debut 12 years ago. Meanwhile, fans were not happy to see Kuldeep Yadav out of the playing XI despite such a match-winning contribution with both the bat and the ball in the last match.
