Mega Auction Day 2: List of players sold and unsold in Round 1

Day two of the Indian T20 League mega auction began with the second set of batters on the list of players. The price ranged from 90 lakhs to as high as 11.5 crores in the first round. At first, Aiden Markram had some attractions and was sold to Hyderabad for 2.6 crores. Ajinkya Rahane was sold to Kolkata at a base price of 1 crore next. A couple of bids were placed for Mandeep Singh, and he was sold to Delhi for 1.1 crores.

Then came the highest bid of the first round, Liam Livingstone. Kolkata, Chennai, Punjab, Gujarat, and Hyderabad were all interested in him, but Punjab got their hands on the all-rounder. The Englishman became the fourth-highest bid of the season so far.

Gujarat then purchased the next three players; Dominic Drakes, Jayant Yadav, and Vijay Shankar. They were sold for 1.1 crores. 1.7 crores, and 1.4 crores respectively. Odean Smith was the next highest sold player of the round. He was purchased for 6 crores by Punjab. They purchased two players and exhausted 17.5 crores from their purse in this round.

South African Marco Jansen was up next and was expected to be a good buy. Mumbai, Rajasthan, and Hyderabad were interested in him, but Hyderabad got him in the end for 4.2 crores. They are living up to their legacy of building a good bowling unit. Shivam Dube saw some bids next from Chennai and Lucknow and Chennai got him for a price of 4 crores. K Gowtham was the last sold player of the round at 90 lakhs to Lucknow.

There were several unsold players as well. The likes of Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan, Aaron Finch, Marnus Labuschagne could not find a bidder.
