England and Chennai all-rounder Ben Stokes is unavailable for another week of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. He has been unavailable since sustaining the heel injury ahead of the Mumbai Indians encounter early this month. Since then, the team has lost only one game and won three (excluding the win against Lucknow Super Giants). Meanwhile, after the win against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 21, head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed Ben Stokes' unavailability.

“Ben Stokes has suffered an injury setback and will be out for a week,” Fleming said in the post-match press conference after CSK beat SRH by seven wickets on Friday.

“Stokes, just a setback, I’m not gonna go into it, but it’s not major. It’s just he’s close. He’s working really hard to get right, can’t fault that at all. So, he just needs a little bit of luck,” he added.

Meanwhile, most of the fans aren't bothered much about Stokes' unavailability. After all, the four-time winners have played six and lost only twice in the tournament so far.

CSK will play two away games during Ben Stokes' unavailability

Meanwhile, the team will be on the road during Stokes' estimated unavailability. During the next week, the team will play Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 23. After this, they will play a reverse fixture against Rajasthan Royals on April 27. The last time CSK and RR met in Chepauk, the 2008 winners won by three runs.
