Paul Pogba’s footballing career hasn’t turned out as everyone hoped it would. The French player was once hailed as one of the best upcoming talents in world football. Pogba, however, never truly reached the pinnacle of the sport and often falls in the ‘wasted talent’ category.

Pogba is currently at Juventus after a failed career at Manchester United. He has been in the news not for his footballing exploits but for a whole different reason altogether. Mathias Pogba, Paul Pogba’s younger brother, posted a bizarre video where he claimed to make ‘great revelations’ about his brother Paul. He also included Paul’s agent Rafaela Pimenta in his video.

Here is the video

"The whole world deserves to know certain things so the public can decide if really deserves the admiration, the respect, his place in the France team if he is a trustful person and worth representing the world's youth, working-class areas and big brands," Mathias Pogba said on Saturday.

Paul came out with his own statement after his brother’s video and said, “The recent declarations of Mathias Pogba on social media are unfortunately not a surprise. They are coming after threats and attempts of extortion by an organised gang against Paul Pogba."

"This has been referred to the appropriate authorities both in Italy and in France a month ago and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation," the French prosecutor told Reuters that an investigation was underway.

"I confirm that an investigation was opened on 3 August 2022 on the charge of attempted extortion by an organised criminal gang. The investigations have been entrusted to the OCLCO," the prosecutor's office said.

Paul Pogba won the World Cup in 2018 with his national side France. Earlier, he had been signed by Manchester United for $106.32 million. His performance, however, wasn’t as good as expected and the English club allowed the midfielder to leave for Juventus in 2021. Currently, Juventus is in the eighth position in the Seria A points table.
