Pakistan are currently busy playing the three-match home Test series at their home against England. After a long gap of 17 years, England came to Pakistan to play a Test series. But, teh result has not gone well so far for the home side as England have already sealed the series by winning two matches.

Now, the Men in Green will look to avoid the clean sweep at home when they will take on Ben Stokes and his men on 17 December in Karachi. However, during the second Test in Multan, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raja sat down with Michael Atherton about the state of cricket grounds in Pakistan.

Fans were not happy with the comments from Ramiz Raja

During that interaction, Ramiz Raja said: “ are used on lease agreements by the PCB and are otherwise under local administration so they don’t belong to us. Faisalabad stadium, for example, is not owned by us. It's with the local administrator. So they can have a public rally there, and we have got no stake there. I wanted to have the under-19 Bangladesh-Pakistan series in Faisalabad but couldn’t because they had a rally there and the outfield was completely ruined. Peshawar is still, I’m afraid, a red flag for most of the foreign players. But, the stadium is still under construction and it will be a bit like the Dubai stadium – high profile. It will be completed in six months and we might have Pakistan Super League matches there."

"We are contained, in a way. We are not spoilt for choice. This belongs to us, Lahore and Karachi too, but we would like to spread the game around. We are working on it, you will visit teams like Faisalabad and Sialkot next,” Ramiz Raja concluded. After hearing such a comment regarding Peshawar fans went crazy and shared their views on social media platforms. Some fans also came up with the demand for resignation from the former Pakistan player. Even, now reports have come that the Peshawar franchise's owner Javed Afridi has decided to give a silent protest and will not attend the Pakistan Super League 8 Draft, scheduled in Karachi on 15 December 2022. The protest is in view of the latest statements given by Ramiz Raja and CEO Faisal Hasnain regarding cricket activities in Peshawar.
