Legendary batsman Michael Hussey complemented the Men in Blue after their victory in the second Test against Australia at Melbourne. Team India after the humiliating defeat in the first Test match surprised everyone in the 2nd Test. Talking about the second game, the visitors had made as many as four changes in their Playing XI.

Debutants Gill and Siraj were in the playing XI as a replacement for Prithvi Shaw and Shami. The duo respectively impressed everyone and cemented a permanent spot for themselves in the purest format of India's game. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant's inclusion was also advantageous as both the players made significant contributions towards India's victory.

Regarding second India vs Australia encounter, Hussey opined that a lousy session of 90 minutes had led to India's downfall in Adelaide. However, the Indian side managed to do all the things right at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Hussey also cherished the visitors' changes in their squad as it helped in strengthening their batting and their bowling unit.

The 45-year-old further hailed the debutant opening batsman Shubman Gill as the future of Indian cricket. He stated that Gill could play for the next ten years for the Indian team. He also admired the way Mohammed Siraj performed in his first Test. The seamer didn't let the visiting team feel the absence of their finest pacer Shami.

The Punjab-born batsman had been waiting for his opportunity for quite a long time. The youngster has scored hundreds of runs for Punjab at the domestic level. The 21-year-old is one of the most talented young batsmen in the country currently. The opening batsman looks set to secure his spot in the Test side after performing well in his maiden appearance.

Gill is also likely to keep his spot in the playing XI for the upcoming third Test against Australia. However, there is a strong possibility of Rohit Sharma making his comeback. Considering Gill's performance, he is going to continue opening the batting. The young batsman might open the innings with Rohit or Agrawal. If the team management wants Rohit and Mayank to open then Gill can be shifted in the middle-order. The third Test between the top two teams is going to start from January 07 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
