In a recent development, Delhi all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. Along with Marsh, four more members, who came in close contact with the Australian all-rounder, will have to serve a quarantine period.
Notably, Delhi's physio Patrick Farhart also tested positive for Covid-19 a few days back. As per earlier reports, another member of the team - an overseas player with minor symptoms - had tested positive in a Rapid Antigen Test and was scheduled for RT-PCR early on Monday. Later, it was revealed that he was indeed Mitchell Marsh who has tested positive.
Confirmed: Mitchell Marsh is positive. Four more members of the Delhi Capitals contingent have been identified as close contacts and will remain in isolation for a week. All other players have returned negative test results #IPL2022 @TheHinduSports @sportstarweb

The players have been quarantined in their rooms as a precaution, with door-to-door Covid-19 tests set for Monday and Tuesday. A call on the match between Delhi and Punjab in Pune will be taken by the BCCI, depending on how things go.
While the Delhi franchise has not officially reported the case, sources in the board have revealed that a plan is being mapped out to ensure that the virus does not spread to other teams. Delhi played their last game against Bangalore on Saturday, just a day after Farhart and a team masseur tested positive. It's been reported that the Delhi players were told not to make any physical contact with their opponents.
Marsh played his first game of the season against Bangalore on Saturday. He was busy with international duties and faced some injury issues later on. He missed out on the first four games of the season. However, he had a poor outing in the match.
Meanwhile, the Delhi team has played five games, winning two and losing three. They currently stand eighth on the points table. They are scheduled to play their next game against Punjab on the 20th of April. Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune will host the match.
