Ace Indian batter and ODI skipper Mithali Raj has reclaimed her No 1 position in the ICC ODI rankings for the batsmen. Mithali was in red hot form in England and scored 206 runs in three ODIs at an average of 103. Her astounding show helped her stay four points ahead of second-ranked South African Lizelle Lee. Australian opener Alyssa Healy and England’s Tammy Beaumont moved up a slot each to settle at third and fourth position respectively.
Meanwhile, Indian opener Smirti Mandhana stayed firm at her 9th slot with 701 rating points. Mandhana had a great opportunity to move up in the ODI rankings but could not score any substantial knock in the ODI series against England. The southpaw only managed 81 runs in three innings at an average of 27.
Mandhana breaks into Top 3 in T20Is
However, she was in fine form in the T20Is and scored 119 runs at an average of just under 40 that helped her edge past Australia’s Meg Lanning to settle at third. Another Indian, destructive opener Shafali Verma continues to lead the T20I charts. Shafali did not have a decent T20I series and could only manage 48 runs. However, it was enough for her to retain the top slot. Shafali is followed by Australia’s Beth Mooney who is placed second. Just like the ODIs, most of the players remain stable in the T20I rankings as well.
