Mithali Raj returns to No.1 spot in women's ODI batters' rankings

India’s ODI team skipper Mithali Raj has once again returned to the top position in the ODI batters' rankings. The 38-year-old performed brilliantly in the recently concluded series against England.

India’s ODI team skipper Mithali Raj returned to the top position in the ODI batters' rankings. The 38-year-old performed brilliantly in the recently concluded series against England. This is the eighth time Mithali Raj has risen to the top of the rankings in her illustrious career.

Mithali Raj started the series against England in the eighth position. The cricketer smashed 59 runs in the second match and helped visitors to a four-wicket victory in the final game of the series, with an unbeaten 75. Mithali Raj concluded the series with 206 runs in three matches, the highest among any player. The Indian women's skipper gained four points to move to the top of the points table in the latest ICC ODI rankings. Mithali Raj last occupied the top position in the ODI rankings back in 2018. The first time she reached the number one ranking was in April 2005.

Shafali Verma remains at the number one spot in the women's T20I batting rankings

Talking about other Indian cricketers, Shafali Verma's scores of 44 and 19 in the last two ODIs see her advance 49 places. She has now reached the 71st position. With 701 points, opening batter Smriti Mandhana has maintained the No. 9 spot in the ODI batting rankings. In the bowlers' list, all-rounder Deepti Sharma has progressed one spot to 12th. She finished with figures of three for 47 in the last match. Senior pacer Jhulan Goswami has also gained four places to reach the 53rd rank.

In the women's T20I Player Rankings, Shafali Verma remains at the top spot in the women's T20I batting rankings. Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodriques have also retained their positions at No. 4 and No. 9, respectively. Pakistan spinner Nida Dar gained six spots to reach 15th position. Dar recently became the first Pakistan bowler to pick up 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game. The spinner bagged four wickets in the 3-match series against the West Indies.
