Talking about the game, Giants skipper Jacques Kallis won the toss and elected to bat first. The team scored 170/8 despite losing regular wickets. The giants batted well in the death overs which is why they reached such a respectable total. In reply, the Maharajas chased down the target, thanks to the Pathan brothers (Yusuf and Irfan), and Tanmay Srivastava.
Notably, both teams played in the first season of the tournament early this year. This time around, both teams have been disbanded. Teams that will play in the tournament are - India Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Manipal Tigers, and Bhilwara Kings. Teams that played in the first season were - India Maharajas, World Giants, and Asia Lions. That season was played in Oman while the ongoing season is being played in India.
