Mohammed Shami shares a great rapport with his KXIP skipper, KL Rahul

Mohammed Shami, the KXIP pacer, recently has revealed that he shares a great rapport on the field with his skipper, KL Rahul. The great understanding with KL Rahul has helped Shami to excel in the IPL as a bowler. Shami is in second place on the list of the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing season of IPL. In 12 matches, he has taken 20 wickets so far for his team.

Even though Kings XI Punjab started their IPL 2020 campaign on a poor note, Mohammed Shami tried to deliver decently in each match. His side won only 1 match out of the first seven IPL 2020 games. During the second half of the season, they made a comeback and won their last 5 games consecutively.

Mohammed Shami opens up on his rapport with KL Rahul

Mohammed Shami ad KL Rahul share the dressing room and played international cricket for a long time now. Both understand each other well on the field. They have huge respect for each other. Shami stated that when the question arises about batting, he listens to the suggestions of KL Rahul. And when it comes to bowling, Rahul listens to Shami. Shami further added that for a bowler who is playing in a format like T20 cricket, it is vital to have the trust, confidence, and support of the team’s captain. The bowler gets a boost of morale through the support of his skipper.

After taking KXIP captaincy, KL Rahul has led his side decently. During the ongoing 13th edition of IPL, the Indian batsman is leading the Orange Cap race for the majority of the tournament so far.
